About This Course
Learning the language and enhancing the communication toolkit are laudable achievements, but they do not automatically mean communication efforts will now deliver the desired attitudes, beliefs, and behaviours.
To help you harness the power of data-driven communications, this one-day praxis session has been designed to extract value from class-based lessons through application to a workplace need that you specified. Your head might ache by the end of the day but, if you do your part, we can get you back to your workplace with a well-structured and detailed action plan.
What You'll Learn
In this advanced-level module, you will collaborate with Expert trainers to:
- Tackle a selected problem statement or case study
- Work through the entire research process – have an issue that is focused and clearly framed; have a clearer understanding of antecedents, opportunities, derailers
- Develop a targeted communications action plan – target audience and how to reach them; draft messages (both archetype- and platform-appropriate); data-related needs (questions, data gathering, visualisation); social listening and sentiments analysis

Nicely illustrated with a case study. Practical :)
- Manager, Ministry of Defence
I liked how the course helps me structure my thinking to identify comms opportunity and threats, framing the problem clearly and building a comms plan around it. Very practical to develop actionable comms strategy. Well structured, practical that sharpened my problem-framing skills.
- Manager, Ministry of Defence
Useful discussions and case studies. Good learning experience and knowledge sharing.
- Senior Manager, Ministry of Social & Family Development
I think the course has been very enlightening and I’ve learnt more about how to apply the things learnt about DDC (i.e. I got to put theory into practice). There were many insights about communications and how to use data to inform communications or campaigns, how to think about and execute communications better.
- Assistant Manager, Ministry of Digital Development & Information
